The Pink Panther is the sly, lanky animated cat created as the main and title character in the opening and closing credit sequences of every film in 'The Pink Panther' series. The film starred Peter Sellers as a bumbling French policeman pursuing an exotic diamond called the Pink Panther. Often harried but rarely ruffled, the skinny feline was first created just for the opening titles of the film, but became so popular that he acquired his own TV show in later years. The Pink Panther cartoons had no dialogue, but were backed by variations on Henry Mancini's slithery saxaphone Pink Panther theme from the original film.
